Classes and Membership

  • How do I sign my child up for classes?

Use the “Join us” link on our website or phone us to express your interest and we will get back to you with all the relevant information.

  • Is there a waiting list and how long is it?

We run sessions every day of the week and there are some waiting lists for some of our sessions, we try to accommodate everyone where we can, but sometimes this may include a small wait as our sessions are very popular.

  • What types of gymnastics do you offer?

We offer a wide range of gymnastics, from Come and play sessions and preschool gymnastics, to recreational gymnastics once a week, moving towards grass roots competitive and more high level Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, using all pieces of Apparatus, Floor, Beam, Bars, Vault, Rings, Pommel and Parallel bars.

  • Can my child move between classes as they progress?

Yes, we cater for each individual's needs, and so as children grow and develop they have opportunities to move to different groups. All participants develop at their own rate and so we try hard to make sure that all gymnasts are in a group that is best suited for their needs at that time. This often includes continual evaluation and sometimes several moves of groups over their career in gymnastics.

  • How do I know which class is right for my child?

Happiness is the biggest indicator. We work hard to make sure your child is enjoying their gymnastics, and is quite often the biggest indicator of the right class for them. After that our qualified and experienced members of staff work hard to find the best suited sessions for your child.

Payments and Fees

  • How much do classes cost?

Please see our Fees page for more details on session costs.

  • How do I pay fees and how often?

Fees are paid monthly by Standing order that you have to set up.

  • Do you offer discounts for siblings?

Unfortunately at this moment in time, due to being a small club we are unable to offer discounts to siblings, however as we grow and develop we hope to show our gratitude for your support in the future.

  • Is there a membership fee?

Yes. There is a club membership fee that is paid annually, as well as an insurance fee which is paid to Welsh Gymnastics. Children cannot participate after their taster sessions without these two memberships.

  • What happens if we miss a session?

Your payment secures your space. Don't worry if you miss a session, if your away for several please let us know, but your child's allocated space will not change if fees are being paid.

Policies and Safety

  • Are your coaches qualified and DBS checked?

Yes. All our staff are Qualified and DBS checked. We do have Apprentices and helpers who are also qualified or under the direct supervision of Highly Qualified senior coaches. All staff are DBS checked and have current Safe Guarding course certificates.

  • How do you keep children safe in the gym?

All coaches have to have DBS checks and Safeguarding qualifications as well as being supervised by experienced Highly qualified senior members of staff, with current First aid and Fire safety training. During training suitable matting and equipment is always used and continually risk assessed. Gymnastics does have inherent risk but due care and attention is made to mitigate risk as much as possible.

We have two viewing areas, one is a viewing balcony with widows and the second is live video feeds of the gymnastics sessions in our cafe. Also please contact us if you'd like to get involved in coaching or helping us too.

Competitions and Progression

  • Does my child have to compete?

No. There is no mandate for your child to compete in recreational sessions, or in our gym for all sessions.  However in senior squad sessions there is an expectation that these groups are tailored to aim towards competitive sport.

  • How will I know if my child is ready for competitions?

Your child's coach will speak to you when they are ready for competitions. Each gymnast must be able to do all relevant skills required in the competition to a acceptable standard before they are considered for a particular competition.  Their are many competitions at different ages and different levels and so it may be that gymnasts are ready for some competitions but not others.

  • Do you run in-house competitions or displays?

Yes. Its a great way to begin the process of competitions as well as showcase what your child has learnt in the gym.

  • What opportunities are there for gymnasts to progress within the club?

We have many available options for our gymnasts to move and progress within the club. From recreational sessions, to longer more advanced sessions, to several sessions a week and senior competitive sessions. We enter competitions from local regional sessions to international competitions and commonwealth games, and beyond. As well as competitive progress we also offer opportunities for camps, volunteering, coaching and judging for all our participants as they get older.
